Northern Nyandarua First Valley Circuit spans the first ridges (Table Mountain, Seven Ponds, and Rurimeria) and across the valley to the second ridges (Poster Hill, Rhino Hill, etc.). This is the ultimate Nothern Nyandarua challenge, which will get you to touch all the explored peaks in the region.

The Hike starts at Mikeu shopping center and quickly goes through a descent to a river crossing before taking a notoriously steep ascent to the Viewpoint. The next section is through grasslands and a short forest cover before you reach the moorlands. Table Mountain is in the Moorland region.

The hike then stretches east to Poster Hill and then south to Rhino Hill. From Rhino Hill, we extend to the Seven Ponds before our final stretch to Rurimeria. We will finally descend to Bushi, Geta, and take our ride back to Nairobi.

What to Wear During the Nothern Nyandarua First Valley Circuit

1. Fleece Marvin/hat or a baseball cap.
2. Proper hiking clothes (polyester t-shirt, wind jacket, hiking pants, fleece jacket).
3. Comfortable hiking boots (should be at least one size bigger than your standard shoe size).
4. Sunscreen.

In Your Backpack, Have

1. At least 2 liters of water (use a water bladder or a reusable bottle). Disposable plastic bottles are not allowed inside parks.
2. Snacks such as biscuits, nuts, fruits, crisps, etc.
3. A hiking pole.
4. A raincoat/poncho.

It is Also Advisable to Have

1. A set of clothes to change into after the hike (sometimes, the good hiking gear also fails, and weather changes are unexpected).

Meeting point: Kencom, Nairobi CBD (Opposite the city clock).

• 3.30 am: Boarding opens
• 3.45 am: Departure for Mikeu Shopping Center (The departure time is strict)
• 6.50 am: Arrival at Mikeu Shopping Center
• 7.00 am: Hike starts
• 2.00 pm: Mandatory fast-exit route decision
• 6.30 pm: Departure for Nairobi
