Chogoria-Sirimon Traverse is your freedom from the time constraints we have as we try to catch our schedules and balance work and personal time. If you have stayed fit, we are presenting this weekend opportunity to summit Mount Kenya in 2 days over a weekend. This two-day trek up Mount Kenya starts at Mount Kenya Chogoria Gate and ends at the Sirimona Gate. As you ascend to the Lenana peak, leaving the ordinary world behind, you’ll be met with panoramic vistas, lakes, flora, and fauna that take your breath away and challenge your limits.

Traverse rugged landscapes, navigate through mountain passes, and conquer the unknown as you challenge your mind to new heights. This will be a journey of personal growth, triumph, and reflection on new experiences. As you reach the summit, you will close this chapter and open the door to new horizons, ready to face whatever mountains and life have to offer with a newfound experience and resilience.

Difficulty: Tough (for fit hikers)

Itinerary

Departure & Hike Day 1

• Leave Nairobi at 8:00 a.m. for Mount Kenya Chogoria Gate.
• Arrive and Register at noon, then drive up to the road end.
• Have lunch at Road End and start the hike to Mintos camp.
• Relax, and have supper.
• Camp for the night.
• On this day, there will be an elevation gain of 1000m hiking +1200m from Nairobi.
• The hiking distance is approximately 12km.

Hike Day 2 & Exit

• Early light breakfast at 1.00 a.m.
• Pack water and lunch.
• Start the day’s ascent to Point Lenana (at 4985m).
• Summit and start the descent to Judimere camp (3300m).
• Wrap-up as we clear with the team handover of belongings.
• Leave for Nairobi.
• There will be an elevation gain of 695m and a loss of 1695m on this day.
